Commonly known as meadow cranesbill this tough plant will die back to the ground or pot each winter after the first frosts. Reappearing in the spring with its deep cut leaves followed by cup shaped violet to purple flowers from early summer until autumn. Growing into a small bush of 50cm or so. Native to Europe and Asia they survive the wet winters and dry summers well. Easy to deal with just cutting back if it gets leggy, they die back each year so clear up the dead leaves and that's about it. Dead heading and the removal of old leaf will encourage new flowers during the summer.
