These are as tough as old boots withstanding frost and drought well. Growing into a small bush each year and dieing back to the ground in winter. They don't mind sun or shade giving dark foliage in spring to be followed by cup shaped violet to purple flowers throughout the summer. All insects seem to like them so good for the old wildlife. Just cut them back if they get a bit leggy, growing back each year you can't really do anything wrong. Here we have 3 year old established plants that will grow well when planted out.
